Hi Ladies,
It’s time to move into a New Season of faith for your marriage! You were not placed here on earth to march solemnly down a straight and narrow path, with God alone, into a beautiful sunset. Your desire to marry itself is God-given, a demonstration of the urge He’s placed inside you to share yourself with another. And this need is already met in His timing, awaiting only the designated moment for arrival.
However, there are actions that you, as a godly lady, can take that will not only bring personal joy, but are likely to be part of our Father’s plan for your life. These are activities which will allow you to participate in building your future, without attempting to wrest control from the Lord. They provide a worthwhile outlet for the abilities that He has granted you, and God is not opposed.
The key is to make moves or take steps that involve having a Vision for your Self, because you are all you’ve really got to work with. You can do this because our Father wishes it. According to Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”, so you are free to step out as He guides.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll explore these steps which will lead you forward as the Lord directs. They must be taken because your designated spouse will be waiting along the right path.
Talents:
You have giftings ready to either be developed or enhanced, whether you’re single or married. The focus is not on men, or on getting or keeping a husband, but rather on you, your talents, and your own God-given gifts. The parable Jesus told about the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 pertains to more than just money. It illustrates, on a very literal level, that He has given gifts/talents that He expects you to value and utilize. He is not pleased if you merely ignore them and walk away, because they provide the keys to increased treasures, materially, emotionally and spiritually.
There’s a good summary of this situation in the phrase, “Use it or lose it.” Note too in the parable that the servants who used their talents gained even more from their Master than they’d developed on their own. As we expand and increase one talent, we uncover more that we barely knew were there. There are all sorts of dividends waiting to be reaped by those willing to do their very best with the gifts God has blessed them with.
The kind or amount of talent you’ve been granted is not the issue. Never compare yourself to others, or like the unfaithful servant, become agitated that you were only given one or a few. This guy became so resentful that he spitefully decided his single talent was not worth doing anything with, so he buried it away, then handed it back to his Master untouched. What a negative attitude! Any talent you have is meant to prosper and benefit you. You can’t foresee the final results that await the exercise of your gift, but your task is to get out there and make the effort. The outcome is in God’s hands, and Proverbs 18:16 states that “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.” In other words, your abilities will be recognized, but only when you use them.
In addition to natural talents, God has also handed spiritual gifts to His Believers. Seek out your specific giftings because they’re intended to bless and strengthen both you and the Body of Christ. They are outlined in 1 Corinthians 12, and numerous books are listed on Google for deeper research.
As for that husband, a happy, active, productive lady is far more attractive to a potential mate than is a mopey, bored one. Pursuing goals that are important to you will not only energize you and work wonders for your disposition, you’ll be amazed at the number of new people drawn into your life. And who knows the special blessing who may be among them…
More next week. Joy and Shalom!
