Hi Ladies,
This potter at the Holy Land Experience in Eureka Springs, AK made the vessel in front of him, yet unfinished, from a ball of clay in about fifteen minutes. He was expert at what he did, brought creativity and passion to his work on the vase, and created something beautiful from a substance malleable to his will. I’m sure you follow the analogy here…you too are a vessel being perfected by the Potter, as long as you remain yielding and open to allowing Him to do His work in you.
Often as Believers we know that we must wait on the Lord to bring His Will to pass in our life, but it can be so very tempting to rebel, to fold our arms in stubborn resistance, or to plant our feet and simply refuse to obey. Such an attitude indicates that we do not know who we are in Christ Jesus, and what our position is in His Kingdom.
Disobedience to Father God is actually disobedience to ourselves and our own best interest, and this is especially true when a fellow comes along who attracts you, and who seems to be the answer to your prayers. The enemy will follow and will do his best to turn your head with lies, to inform you that the physical relationship you might like to participate in is for your good and is of God.
But instead of listening to the tickling of your ears with easy answers, evaluate what Holy Spirit is saying. He will never contradict His Word, so if the voice in your mind says, “Yes, it’s okay to have sex with ____ just because we want to do so”, pay more attention to the other Voice you’ll also be hearing. This One will confirm that there is a good reason that premarital sex is prohibited, and why you must wait. The future of your marriage is at stake, and also your own self-worth.
When we disobey Our Father, Holy Spirit will interfere with our ultimate pleasure, and we will endure needless suffering and anxiety trying to regain our stance and value as a godly lady. Which is what God has called you to be, as a Christian and a woman.
PRECIOUS PRICELESS YOU!
Your response to the question of “Who am I?” reflects your personal opinion of your value. And how you think of yourself is the criteria that determines your worth. Do other people have the right to decide for you whether you are priceless or worthless?
The answer, of course, is No! …only God does. But many of us act as though others dictate or control our value. They do not, and if you are a daughter of the King of all creation, you are royalty. You’ve been made worthy of the honor of being in the lineage of the Godhead by your acceptance of Christ Jesus’ own shed blood.
If a man tries hard to change your stance on intimacy, or berates or belittles you because of it, he is unworthy of you. He is demonstrating a low opinion of your worth, and you must not acquiesce to being treated as less than the treasure you are. As a woman of faith, you are precious to Almighty God, and nobody else establishes your value except you. You are free to declare your worth, and the opinions of others about your value are worthless. You can choose to accept their valuation if they treat you with respect, or reject their opinion completely if it denigrates you. The good news is that others, particular male others, will accept the value that you place upon yourself, whether high, or low, or in-between, and they will respond accordingly. After all, who would know better than you?
Don’t rush into a man’s bed in the vain hope that will convince him to love you. Maintain your stance as a woman of God, and the Lord will strengthen and sustain you while you wait for the arrival of the fellow He has designed for you. Your hopes and desires will be fulfilled at His appointed time.
Joy and Shalom!
