Hi Ladies,

This picture is a perfect representation of the talents, abilities and skills that God has used to form the unique creation that is YOU. The beautiful ball, made entirely of keys, was recently given to Dr. Chuck Pierce at GOZ.  In a similar manner, each personality trait, interest, and spiritual gift that you possess is a component, a key to your personality, and to the options that Our Father has given you.  There are so many of them, and together they represent the enormous potential within you, waiting to be developed.  The choice to use them is yours.

Last post, we discussed writing down your “bent” list, a useful enumeration of all the avenues of interest that you might even remotely like to explore. This can be an eye opener for dormant possibilities, but it can be refined even more.

“Wait! What does this have to do with my getting married?  I am ready to start this year off right with a fellow!”  But you may not be quite as ready as you think.  You may yet have to learn to live peaceably with God’s schedule.  You might be standing at the starting line, excited and ready to go, but it’s entirely possible that nothing can happen.

Why?…probably because you are not the one who determines your readiness. The LORD may need to sharpen and strengthen your faith first.  1 Peter 5: 10 states that God wants to: “perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.”  He wants you to know Him, and to get to know yourself as well.  Perhaps He is planning to, per Deuteronomy 8: 2, “test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

These are just a few reasons to consider for Our Father’s “delay”, and if you remain submitted, He will reveal to you His areas of concern. When you communicate with Him in prayer and through reading His Word, you’ll learn His heart and grow in your understanding.  And the closer you come to The LORD, the more you’ll realize how well your relationship with Him prepares you to relate to others.

The WORD:

Psalm 37: 4 – “Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Exodus 15: 2 – “The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” Psalm 37: 23 – “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way.” Psalm 127: 1 – “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” Psalm 128: 8 – “The LORD will perfect that which concerns me.”
Proverbs 3: 5, 6 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Psalm 46: 10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”

MEANWHILE:

Now that we’ve confirmed Who is in control, let’s return to the “bents”. You should have assembled a fairly extensive list of anything and everything that you feel an inclination toward, no matter how far-fetched it may seem.  Time to sort it all out…

Start a new sheet with columns titled (1) “Things I Already Do”; (2) “Things I Could Easily Do”; and (3) “Things About Which I Haven’t A Clue”.  Assign your “bent” list accordingly.  This total overview of what you could be doing is probably pretty impressive.  Each activity indicates a possibility that might be explored, potential dormant inside you.

In Jesus’ parable in Matthew 25: 14-30, He describes “talents”. Although He’s referring to money, on a very literal level, God also requires you utilize the abilities, the giftings, the talents that He has given you, just as in the parable.  He truly does expect you to nurture and increase them.   They are the keys to your riches and treasure, materially, spiritually, and emotionally.  Don’t fret about the outcome.  Your task is to get out there and make the effort.  As for that spouse, have faith – God can change things in an instant!

Next comes moving those lists to action. Joy and Shalom!”ssign
