Hi Ladies,
New Year and new resolve! It’s time to move forward into a New Season, and this may be the year that God has chosen to bring your mate! If you’ve received that Vision from Him, you’re possibly ready to spring into action and help Him out. But He doesn’t really need your assistance! It’s already done in His timetable and only awaits the appropriate moment of arrival.
However – there ARE some things that you, as a godly lady, can do that will not only bring you joy, but may also be part of Our Father’s plan for your life this year. These options are worth exploring because they’re the kind of positive, concrete actions that provide creative ways to expend energy in the matrimonial arena, while still letting God control the outcome. They don’t involve trying to take the matter out of Our Father’s hands, but they do involve keeping your own hands busy in a worthwhile way.
This blog is the first in a series on developing the fulfilled life that will prepare you to meet and receive God’s chosen spouse.
For many of you, idle waiting is nearly impossible. Our Sovereign LORD is not opposed to your taking action if it is not destructive or contrary to His Word. According to Proverbs 16: 9, “A man’s heart plans his way, but The LORD directs his steps.” The key to making God-ordained moves is to take steps that involve changing, improving, or developing yourself, because you are all you actually have to work with. Just remember to remain prayerful and ready to follow His instructions.
THE FULL LIFE
Are you bored? Do you consider yourself boring? Do you wish to attract a dull, un-stimulating man? If you were a guy, would you find yourself to be bland or uninteresting? Do you think that being drab is a Christian virtue? It’s sad but true that often ladies who are Believers feel that being a good Christian means subduing their personalities, their interests, and their abilities. Not so! God’s presence in your life is intended to enhance it, to stimulate and build your uniqueness, to bring out your hidden talents, and to make your life blossom and flourish like the cherry blossoms in the photo.
This year, investigate and identify the potential that God has placed within you. What are your dreams, besides those that pertain to marriage? Consider the activities that you enjoy, or think you could learn to enjoy. What abilities has God given you? Can you sing, write novels, or draw? Do you love animals or babies? What would you really like to do as a career? Do you harbor a secret desire to be a lawyer, interior decorator, or talk show host? Do you want to preach or become a missionary? The LORD calls His people to be active in many arenas, not just within the church walls. He needs Christian doctors, police officers, managers, life coaches, politicians and professors. Your interests are seeds of possibility, dormant within you until you take steps to develop them.
Start by compiling a “bent” list. Your bent is a God-given inclination to grow in a certain direction. Write down your gifts, desires, hobbies and any other endeavors you’re attracted to. Have you considered tennis, jogging or bicycling? Would you like to bowl, play the guitar, ride horses, or study accounting? How about learning gourmet cooking, painting or photography? Put them all on your list. Don’t worry about whether others will understand or approve…it’s your own personal inventory, not to be edited to fit anyone else’s standards.
Will this help bring my husband? Possibly, but its’ purpose is to help establish a fulfilling life for yourself. Think about it…a happy, productive, active woman is far more attractive to a potential mate than is a fearful TV addict, afflicted with the mopes. Pursuing your own goals and activities will not only energize you and work wonders for your disposition, you’ll be amazed at the number of new people who will be drawn into your life. And God knows the end result of that!
Until next week – Joy and Shalom!
